Brotherhood Day 2026: Celebrating a Legacy of Love, Service and Unity

Brotherhood Day 2026: Celebrating a Legacy of Love, Service and Unity

“United not by blood, but by the deep and abiding love for God and service to humanity.”

On 5th October the morning assembly was presented by the Student Council of MSM on Brotherhood Day which is celebrated world wide on 4th October. This also provided an opportunity for the Marian community to express its gratitude to the Patrician Brothers for their selfless commitment to education and character formation.

The celebration highlighted the life and teachings of St. Francis, whose profound belief in the brotherhood of all creation continues to inspire generations. His love for nature, compassion for the poor and marginalised and commitment to peace and simplicity beautifully reflect the spirit of fraternity and mutual care.

The speakers drew a meaningful connection between the ideals of St. Francis and the mission of the Patrician Brothers, who have devoted themselves to education and service since their founding by Bishop Daniel Delany. Their legacy of faith, humility, charity and service has touched countless lives, with their educational mission extending to India since 1875. Their motto, “Christus in Corde Omnium” – Christ in the heart of all, reflects the spiritual foundation of their service.

At MSM, the Patrician vision goes beyond academic excellence. Through character formation, faith formation, social responsibility and respect for all living beings, the Brothers nurture students to become compassionate, responsible and well-rounded individuals. The school motto, “Pro Deo et Patria – For God and Country,” further reflects this commitment to developing young minds rooted in moral values, faith and civic responsibility.

The celebration culminated in a special expression of gratitude to the Principal Rev. Bro. O. J. Joseph and the Community Leader, Rev. Bro. Felix Mathew. The Student Council on behalf of all Marians, presented cards to the Brothers as a token of appreciation for their guidance, care and dedicated service to the Marian community.

Brotherhood Day 2026 thus became a celebration not merely of a day, but of a way of life—living with faith, serving with humility, caring with compassion and building a community founded on love, unity and peace. The Marian community extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Patrician Brothers, whose enduring legacy continues to inspire generations of Marians.
