As a part of the CBSE board’s initiative Mount St. Mary’s Junior School celebrated National Reading Day on the19th June, 2022 virtually to honour Late Mr.P.N Panicker the father of the Library Movement. He promoted a culture of reading to inculcate the habit of reading and promote book-mindedness among school children, youth as well as the underprivileged population of the country.As rightly said by Vera Nazarian, “Whenever you read a good book, somewhere in the world a door opens to allow in more light, thus the students got an opportunity to participate in various activities organized by the Class Teachers to inculcate the habit of reading. Students were motivated to be avid readers with the help of videos, PowerPoint Presentations, online resources from where they can access eBooks and activities. It was indeed an enriching and fun-filled event.
