LABOUR DAY-2019
On 1st May 2019, Mount St. Mary’s school organised a special assembly to celebrate the occasion of International Labour Day. The assembly was organised to honour the efforts made by the helpers of the school in keeping the surroundings neat and tidy for the students as well as to provide the necessary service to keep the school running smoothly. The occasion was quite unique as six of our support staff members had completed more than 25 years of selfless service in school. Their diligence and honesty was felicitated by the school Principal Rev. Bro Saji V.J. As a gesture of gratitude the children offered sweets and handmade cards to all the members of the support staff. A group song was presented by the students and a poem was read out in their honour by a student of class VII. The Principal gave a heart warming speech, where he reminded the students about the importance and dignity of ‘manual labour’. He also urged them to be respectful to these workers and always honour all kinds of jobs without any prejudice.
