Cultural Fiesta 2025: A Celebration of Talent and Team Spirit

Mount St. Mary’s School hosted the much-awaited Cultural Fiesta 2025 with great enthusiasm and excitement, celebrating creativity, talent, and the vibrant spirit of our school. Spanning over three days (15th May to 17thMay), the event witnessed a spectacular showcase of talent across a variety of artistic and intellectual disciplines.

On 15th May the event began with a grand Inauguration Ceremony, setting a spirited tone for the days ahead. The House Captains and Vice-Captains marched to the stage with pride, symbolizing their readiness to participate in the cultural extravaganza.

The ceremonial lamp was lit by the esteemed Principal, Rev Bro. Tomy Varghese along with the Senior School Coordinator Mr. Geo Mathew, Middle School Coordinator Ms Monica Jain, Junior School Coordinators Ms. Aanchal Siwach and Ms. V. Subha besides the four House Coordinators. The White House, the Captains and Vice Captains were also present on stage during the lamp lighting ceremony. A heartfelt prayer by Divit Marwah, the Cultural Captain, invoked blessings for a successful and enriching celebration. It was followed by the Oath -taking Ceremony. The Cultural Coordinator, Ms. Aparna Sinha administered the oath.

A creatively conducted Draw of Lots by the White House determined the order of performances for the first day: Price, Hogan, Hughes, and Parkinson. The draw was followed by an official announcement by Mrs. Monica Jain. The ceremonial segment concluded with Brother declaring the Cultural Fiesta open and extending his best wishes to all participants.

The day was packed with a diverse set of events that gave students from various classes the opportunity to display their creative and intellectual prowess:

• Dumb Charades (Classes 6–12)
• Quiz (Preliminary Round)
• Sketching and Shading
• Marian Fashionista
• Hindi Declamation
• Gaming (Classes 6–9)
• Personality Contest
• Invitation Card Making (Class 6)
• Mandala Art (Class 8)
• English Poetry Recitation (Class 6)
• Hindi Poetry Recitation (Class 6)
• Hindi Debate (Class 8)

Each event was met with enthusiastic participation, and the energy among students was electric as they cheered for their Houses and showcased their diverse talents. The second day began with a new Draw of Lots, resulting in the order: Parkinson, Hughes, Price, and
Hogan.

The day was dedicated to performances in music, drama, and intellectual challenges. A mix of traditional and modern events brought out the best in students across all grades. The events included:

• Mime
• Quiz Finals
• English Extempore
• Implico
• Marian Round Table
• Stand-Up Comedy

From soulful music to thought-provoking street plays and a highly competitive quiz finale, Day 2 was a perfect blend of creativity, spontaneity, and critical thinking.

The final day saw the last Draw of Lots, with the order being: Price, Hughes, Hogan, and Parkinson. The day highlighted expressive performances and articulate voices through dance and debate:

• Choreography (Solo and Group)
• Quiz Finals (Continued)
• English Debate (Classes 7 & 8)

Dancers mesmerized the audience with Solo and Group Choreography events, while the English Debate witnessed passionate arguments and impressive oratory skills from young debaters. At the end of three electrifying days, the cumulative house points were announced. Hogan House was declared the winners of Cultural Fiesta 2025 followed by Hughes House, Parkinson House and Price House respectively.

Special Trophies were awarded to recognize the exceptional team spirit and discipline. Price House lifted the Best Cheering Trophy whereas Parkinson House won the Best Disciplined Trophy.

The Cultural Fiesta 2025 was a resounding success, filled with moments of brilliance, joy, and collaboration. It not only provided students a platform to express their creativity and intellect but also strengthened the spirit of teamwork and healthy competition. The dedication and enthusiasm of the participants, combined with the support of teachers and coordinators, made this event a memorable
celebration of culture and talent.
