Celebrating Patrician Legacy at MSM
Mount St. Mary’s School marked its grand Foundation Day Celebrations on 3rd February 2026, commemorating the 218th Foundation Day of the Patrician Brothers and the completion of 63 glorious years of the institution’s inspiring journey. The special assembly was a heartfelt tribute to the vision and ideals of the Congregation of Brothers of St. Patrick, founded in 1808 in Ireland by Bishop Daniel Delany, who believed that education had the power to transform society. The celebration reflected the Patrician message of living together in peace, harmony, and service.
The programme began on a solemn note with a prayer seeking God’s blessings for the school and the Patrician fraternity. This was followed by a melodious prayer song and traditional Irish blessings presented by the school choir, beautifully capturing the spiritual roots of the Patrician legacy. A graceful classical prayer dance added a moving expression of devotion and reverence. Students also presented a meaningful poem highlighting the life and mission of Bishop Delany, reminding everyone of his dream to educate minds, discipline character, and inspire hearts.
The assembly paid tribute to Rev. Bro. E. T. Dunne, the Founding Principal of Mount St. Mary’s, whose dedication laid the foundation for generations of excellence. The contributions of Patrician Brothers in shaping the school’s legacy were also remembered with deep gratitude.
The celebration concluded with a joyful birthday tribute to the school and an inspiring address by the Principal, Rev. Bro. Tomy Varghese followed by the School Song. The day stood as a proud reminder of MSM’s enduring spirit of faith, discipline, and excellence.
