Dussehra, Gandhi Jayanti and Diwali Celebrations 2025

FESTIVE SPIRIT ILLUMINATES MOUNT ST. MARY’S SCHOOL

The General Assembly on 26th September was a joyous celebration that brought together the Marian community in a spirit of unity, reflection and festivity. The celebration beautifully blended the essence of Dussehra, Navratri, Gandhi Jayanti and Diwali.
The celebrations began with a soulful prayer, followed by reflections on how these festivals teach timeless lessons of peace and righteousness. A short video on Mahatma Gandhi highlighted his belief in truth and non-violence, while a classical dance gracefully depicted Goddess Durga in her divine forms — Shakti, Saraswati, and Lakshmi.

A skit on the victory of good over evil emphasized the relevance of Dussehra in today’s world, while a melodious choir medley and Eco Club poem promoted harmony and environmental care. The Nukkad Natak on Green Diwali encouraged everyone to celebrate the festival in a joyful and responsible manner.

The Middle School Coordinator, Ms Monica Jain addressed the gathering, inspiring students to follow the ideals of Lord Rama, whose life exemplified truth, courage, and righteousness. Rev. Bro Tomy Varghese, our esteemed Principal, inspired the Marians with his words of wisdom, urging students to live with compassion and integrity.

The celebration concluded with the School Song, leaving every Marian inspired to embrace peace, goodness, and respect for nature.
