A Night with the Stars at Astroport Sariska
An educational astronomy trip, organised in collaboration with Space India on 11th January 2026, took 17 students to Astroport Sariska, near the Sariska Tiger Reserve, Rajasthan. India’s first astronomy-themed resort offered ideal dark skies for an immersive stargazing experience. The evening began with a lively Rajasthani cultural performance, followed by an engaging session on night sky orientation, where students learned about cardinal directions, the zenith, and locating Polaris. They also explored the use of sky maps and planispheres to track celestial bodies.
The highlight was telescopic observation of **Jupiter and its four moons—Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto—**along with bright stars like Sirius and Betelgeuse. The trip proved to be an enriching blend of culture, curiosity, and experiential learning, leaving students inspired by the wonders of astronomy.
