43rd Bro. Bergin Memorial Music Meet

43rd Bro. Bergin Interschool Music Meet

Mount St. Mary’s School, Delhi Cantt., resonated with melody and rhythm on Saturday, 23rd August 2025, as we hosted the 43rd Bro. Bergin Memorial Music Meet. This signature event is in memory of Bro. Callistus Bergin – a visionary educator and true patron of music. The celebration carried forward his legacy of nurturing young talent while celebrating India’s rich musical heritage and the vibrance
of Western classics.

This Interschool event is conducted in two categories – Indian and Western. The Indian Music Interschool competition saw ten leading schools presenting enthralling performances steeped in tradition. MSM’s own Visharad Club opened with a soulful recital. Aryaman Gautam of Somerville, Sec-22, Noida, won the solo title, while St. Xavier’s, Raj Niwas, claimed top honours in the Instrumental/Band category.

Somerville, Sec-22, also swept the Choir and ‘Best in Indian Music’ awards, while the coveted ‘KK Star Performer Trophy’ was taken home by Aditya Anand of St. Xavier’s School. The Western Music Meet, themed on the 70s and 80s, brought together seventeen schools in a spectacular showcase. The La Symphony members set the tone with an enchanting presentation and closed the evening with a power-packed band
performance. Carmel Convent triumphed in Choir category, St. Francis De Sales topped in Instrumental category, and Diya Sharma of Somerville, Sec-132, Noida, took the trophy home in Solo Singing. Manav Rachna, Gurugram, was adjudged ‘Best in Western Music,’ while the ‘KK Star Performer Trophy’ was awarded to Chaitanya  Mehta of St. Francis De Sales.

The event was graced by the Chief Guest, Mr. John Oinam, a singer, songwriter, model and a voice-over artist. His several breakthroughs include making it to Top 10 of the Colours reality show ‘The Stage’ and Top 30 of ‘Indian Idol’. A heartfelt tribute was paid to the legendary singer and the alumnus of the school, Krishnakumar Kunnath. The trophy – ‘KK Star Performer Trophy’ is instituted in his memory by his batchmates.

The school also extended gratitude to sponsors Mr. Nithyaraj and Mr. Angad of Westwood Guitars for their generous support.
